FRP / GRP PIPES & FITTINGS

FRP / GRP STORAGE TANKS

FRP/GRP Storage Tanks are corrosion-resistant composite vessels designed for the safe storage of chemicals, water, petroleum products and industrial liquids. Manufactured using glass-reinforced thermoset composites, these tanks provide a durable, non-metallic alternative to conventional steel tanks, particularly in environments where corrosion, leakage and high maintenance are major concerns.

SREX Composites designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of FRP storage tanks and GRP storage tanks for above-ground and underground installations, serving chemical processing plants, water and wastewater facilities, power plants, fertilizer units, oil & gas utilities and general industrial applications.

1. FRP / GRP CHEMICAL STORAGE TANK

FRP/GRP Chemical Storage Tanks are engineered for the long-term storage of corrosive chemicals such as acids, alkalis and industrial process fluids. These tanks are widely used where metallic tanks fail due to chemical attack, internal corrosion or coating degradation.

Manufactured using corrosion-resistant resin systems and reinforced fiberglass laminates, FRP chemical storage tanks and GRP chemical storage tanks ensure leak-free service, chemical compatibility and extended operational life.

Typical Applications

  • Acid and alkali storage
  • Hydrochloric acid storage tanks
  • Chemical dosing and neutralization tanks
  • Pickling solution storage
  • Process chemical holding tanks

Applicable Standards

  • ASME RTP-1 – Reinforced Thermoset Plastic corrosion-resistant equipment (vessels up to 15 psi)
  • ASTM D3299 – Filament-wound FRP chemical-resistant tanks
  • ASTM D4097 – Contact-molded FRP chemical-resistant tanks

THERMOPLASTIC LINED FRP / GRP STORAGE TANK

For highly aggressive chemical environments, SREX Composites manufactures thermoplastic-lined FRP/GRP storage tanks, also referred to as dual laminate FRP tanks. These tanks combine a chemically inert thermoplastic liner with a structurally strong FRP/GRP outer shell.

This construction delivers superior resistance to permeation, chemical attack and thermal stress while maintaining mechanical strength.

Available Lining Systems

  • HDPE lined FRP / GRP storage tanks
  • PP / PPH lined FRP storage tanks
  • UPVC / CPVC lined FRP tanks
  • PVDF lined FRP storage tanks
  • ECTFE, FEP and PFA lined FRP / GRP tanks

Typical Applications

  • Storage of highly corrosive acids and solvents
  • Chlorinated and oxidizing chemicals
  • Specialty and high-purity chemical storage

Applicable Standards

  • ASME RTP-1 – Dual laminate corrosion-resistant equipment
  • BS EN 13121-3 – FRP tank design and fabrication

FRP / GRP WATER STORAGE TANK

FRP/GRP Water Storage Tanks are hygienic, corrosion-free tanks designed for potable water, treated water and industrial water storage. These tanks provide long-term service without rusting, contamination or leakage and are suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations.

Typical Applications

  • Potable and domestic water storage
  • Treated water and RO permeate tanks
  • Industrial process water storage
  • Underground and overhead water tanks

Tank Configurations

  • FRP vertical water tanks
  • GRP cylindrical water tanks
  • GRP horizontal water tanks
  • Underground FRP water storage tanks

Applicable Standards

  • BS EN 13121-3 – Structural design of FRP tanks

FRP / GRP / SMC PANEL TANK

FRP / GRP / SMC Panel Tanks, also known as sectional water tanks, are modular tanks assembled using prefabricated panels. These tanks are ideal where transportation constraints, site access limitations or future capacity expansion require modular construction.

Typical Applications

  • Potable water storage
  • Fire-fighting water storage
  • HVAC and utility water systems
  • Commercial and infrastructure projects

Applicable Standards

  • AWWA D121 – FRP panel-type water storage tanks

FRP / GRP PETROLEUM STORAGE TANK

FRP/GRP Petroleum Storage Tanks are engineered for the safe storage of diesel, petrol and other hydrocarbon fuels. These tanks offer excellent resistance to petroleum products, moisture and soil corrosion, making them suitable for both above-ground and underground installations.

Typical Applications

  • Diesel storage tanks
  • Petrol storage tanks
  • Fuel storage for power plants and generators
  • Industrial and backup fuel systems

Applicable Standards

  • UL 1316 – Reinforced plastic underground tanks for petroleum products
  • API 12P – FRP tanks for oil and gas industry applications
  • BS EN 13121-3 – FRP tank design and fabrication

FRP / GRP RECTANGULAR STORAGE TANK

FRP/GRP Rectangular Storage Tanks are composite tanks with a rectangular footprint, designed to maximize storage capacity where floor space is limited. Unlike cylindrical tanks, these tanks are structurally reinforced using rectangular metal sections, which are fully encapsulated with FRP/GRP laminate to prevent corrosion and rusting.

This hybrid reinforcement system provides high structural rigidity while retaining the corrosion resistance of composite materials.

Typical Applications

  • Industrial water storage
  • Chemical process tanks
  • Wastewater balancing and equalization tanks
  • Pickling and plating tanks
  • Fire water and utility storage

Construction Features

  • Embedded rectangular metal sections fully covered with FRP layers
  • Flat FRP walls with internal stiffening
  • Corrosion-resistant internal surfaces
  • Custom nozzles, manholes and access openings

Applicable Standard

  • BS EN 13121-3 – FRP tank design and fabrication

DESIGN & MANUFACTURING FEATURES

  • Filament-wound and contact-molded construction
  • Dedicated internal corrosion barrier layers
  • UV-resistant external gelcoat
  • Reinforced nozzles, manways and load zones
  • Above-ground and underground design options
  • Custom sizes, shapes and capacities
  • QUALITY ASSURANCE

    Each FRP/GRP storage tank undergoes:

    • Dimensional and visual inspection
